ARG - I need help with finding the * on the Kindle ...

While my computer was downloading El Capitian it occurred to me that if there is a significant issue I may not have the use of my MacBook Pro.

I attempted to log into my Kindle and to my horror - I cannot find the *. Why is this important ? My Password includes an *. I cannot log in with it.

Is the asteric hidden somewhere else ?

Do you mean the kindle app on your mac, or do you mean a kindle paperwhite or voyage? I don't remember having to relog into my kindle app on my mac when I upgraded to El Capitan.

I got out my Kindle and checked. Switch from alphabet to numbers with the key in the lower left ?123. And then on the number keyboard there is a key on the bottom row on the left ~/<. That takes you to a keyboard that has other symbols including the *

Sorry Jaxs Mom - I was signing onto the Kindle in case I crashed the Mac while upgrading to El Capitian.

Thanks - that was the solution.

I was downloading El Capitian and was afraid of not being connected in case there was a crash or issue. I have delayed upgrading the browser for a long time and expected a problem or two. There where a couple of hick-ups but everything worked out.

@JK7I know that works because sometime last year I needed one of those "hidden" symbols and called Amazon for help. Even their rep had to go ask for help so she could tell me!

Frogette - Thanks so much for taking the time out to figure this out. I have been playing around with the neglected Kindle for literally years. It was purchased over 3 years ago used a little bit and has collected dust.
