Would buy refurbished Apple products ONLY from the Apple website. Would not trust them from any other source.

I agree!
And I don't buy new Apple products from Q. Compare the fine print and which kinds of products sold by Apple or your cell phone company.

It depends on how much you trust the vendor and their return/warranty policies. In general, if you get something electronic and it works when you get it, it should be fine going forward. Which is why the return/warranty process is important. You don't want to have to fight to return something that's broken when you get it. Modern electronics (other than batteries) tend to last a long time. If it's working fine when you get it, it'll likely last a long time regardless of who you buy it from. You just want to be sure you won't have an issue if it's broken when you get it.

We've purchased refurbished Apple devices from Verizon, Bedt Buy and even Amazon. Not one issue on any of them and I'd do it again.

I brought my sister an open box excellent condition iPad Air 13 tablet from Best Buy online last October.
I have purchased a Samsung S9 + from the store as well.
Sometimes Best Buy's online price is cheaper than the Apple store.

@Nuttmeg Apple does not sell their "refurbished" products at any offline or online retail stores including their own. All of their refurbished products are sold ONLINE on their "refurbished website."
An open box item is NOT a refurbished item. No retail store can beat Apple's refurbished price unless they are giving away the product or it's seriously outdated. The latter I've never seen on Apple's refurbished website.

Apple refurbished products are the best, but sometimes the company doesn't have inventory.
I don't have a problem buying an open box excellent condition tablet from Best Buy online, because, Best Buy an authorized seller of Apple products.
I brought my tablets in October and they were customers returns after school started.
The store is three miles from my house, so I can return it.
The iPad Air 6 13" was about $720 plus tax.
