A question for computer geeks.

On today's SV a BM handbag. Bruce boasted that you could put your ipad into the bag. He also said that it had a pocket on the back with a magnetic closure. I thought I read somewhere that you shouldn't put computers near magnets. Can anyone tell me if an ipad would be safe so close to a magnetic closure?
