Re: Beware of this Item

[ Edited ]

I have the same pants. No smell. Could have come from a different warehouse.

I had an item from a different brand at QVC, smell like cigarettes, and was definitely washed before. Should have been sold "as is," because it was definitely the smell of someone's house. Unfortunately, buying online runs that risk. Funny thing is that I've bought many items "as is," and none of them smelled like a smoker's home or looked like they had been washed before.

@Kachina624 I have to wonder too if it's the dye. I purchased 2 different tops from Macy on line, same manufacturer. One had the smell so I thought I could get rid of the smell because I liked it. Can't tell you how many washings and products I used to try to get rid of the smell. Next time, it's going back!

@Estellee  I use Don Asletts XO deodorizer which I get on Amazon.  I spray the pants, let them dry then spray again.  After they dry, I launder as usual and there's not even a hint of odor.

Not all of the same items seem to be affected so I tend to go with the insecticide theory.  I got a stinky pair of Susan Graver jeans this week.  Time to go to work.

By the way, that deodorizer is good for many things.  Even works on skunked dogs
