Re: "In Process" - Already Received

I gather that not everyone realizes that scones are by nature a drier pastry. That's not to everyone's liking.

QVC's inability to track their orders is one of the many snafus that seem unique to this retailer and adds to the frustration and inconvenience to their customers.

When this company folds, it won't be because of changes in the industry and customer buying patterns. It will be of their own undoing.

I love scones.  I "sconed" my way through Britain, wales and Scotland !   I have excellent recipe. I begged recipe from a housekeeper in hotel.  How kind she was.  We were talking scones, and she offered.  Of course I had to translate measurements when I got home,    Scones in America are different .  But even in GB every bakery is different. Some are dryer, some a bit moister. They are meant to be a cross between a biscuit (cookie) and a a shortbread cake like pastry.  The commercial ones like Jimmy The baker, and even grocery store bakeries are made commercially, they are mixed with a huge blender.  Real scones you can't do that. You have to use real high fat butter cold as ice.  Dough can barely be worked together, by hand only? Cold hands, cold marble boards I grate , or tiny cube cold butter , leave in fridge til ready. Blend in barely  roll, cut, bake. Also, most commercial bakery's don't use all real butter, and they add too much sugar. A real scone should taste like shortbread, buttery slightly moist, and flaky. With jam, or clotted cream. But it still isn't like cake   They just can't do that commercially.  I can see people being disappointed .

@lovesallanimals. The solution to your problem is simple. If you're dissatisfied with a food purchase, all you have to do is call CS for a refund. How could you be treated any better?

@kaydee50. I was recently waiting for a non-food item to be picked up from the warehouse, when it arrived at my door. I don't obsess over shipping, knowing they'll all arrive eventually.

@shoekitty. This past week, I got the most delicious muffins, pumpkin with a cream cheese filling, from David's Cookies. Very dense and moist, highly recommend.

@Kachina624   it is amazing, David's cookies actually makes good cakes and cookies, for being made commercially.

@shoekitty. For years I was on AD for David's crumb cakes at HSN. Then they moved to QVC and gave up crumb cakes. They were the best.

Re: "In Process" - Already Received

I buy a lot of  food items over internet.  I buy lox and split pea soup and chicken soup from Katz deli in NYC.,

nI order Banana Pudding and carrot cake from Magnolia Bakery,

ordered from David's, and enjoyed what I bought ,

I have used MANNA ORGANICS for sprouted breads.  The real , keep refrigerated sprouted bread,

I order my hard Pretzels from East Lake,

I repeatedly order from GoldBelly, Ina Gartens coconut cake, it's out go to gift,,,

and I always order my ice cream from McConnels

and my fish from Alaska, Great Alaskan Fish Co it is the best!
and when I want turkey products and a cooked turkey, organic or not,It's Diestel  in California

my point is all these places have stellar shipping and product. They all have insured product for heat and damage....but none has the easy, pick up the phone and get refund QVC has with their food promise.
I have never had problems, but one lost ice cream shipment, and mcconnells sent a new one asap. But most companies require forms, photos and such.  And they don't refund if you hate it lol.  QVC will.

I have stuck with the above companies for years, I mean some 10 years or more as I have never had a bad purchase.  But I have found the supermarket here quit selling so many items we loved. I had to go online direct to the source. Also, by going direct you het coupons, sales discounts. Works for me anyway
