For some reason I cannot reply on my original post "Worst Customer Service, etc." Not sure if the moderator turned this option off for the author?
But I wanted to post an update that they did email me and cancel the order, which is very nice and appreciated.
It is frustrating that they would not cancel when I reached out directly earlier in the day, but then do so after I wrote a negative post. However, I am so appreciative that this was resolved.
Thank for you the replies, yes - it was the Dyson Hair Set.
As for the comments about the sales tax being higher, I understand that companies have additional fees. But these need to be disclosed as "service fees" (Postmates, Uber Eats, etc. do this properly). Not sure why these are labeled as "State Tax"
Anyway, take care everybody. And thank you QVC customer care for your prompt resolution ![]()

If anyone can help, it's them.

@Pper Good that it's resolved. In the future I wouldn't be accusing a business of fraudulent or illegal practices as you did in your original post.

I am allowed to have an opinion and I do believe that any service fees should be disclosed. Tax rates are determined based on the location of the sale by local jurisdiction. This rate is the same no matter where I shop in my area, in person or online. No problem with service fees, but they should be listed. Can't find any other explanation why QVC tax was $23 higher. It could make sense if they charge the gross total with S&H but my order was free shipping and I had a $15 coupon. Doesn't add up. I agree that this isn't fraudulent or illegal, but it is unethical.
It's also crazy that we are in 2021 in a world of fast deliveries, free shipping, free returns, etc. with a huge increase in online orders due to the pandemic. It's their right to capitalize on those charges for their business model, but I think they could sell waaaaaay more if they made it a more enjoyable shopping experience from a consumer standpoint. I spend a lot more money in places that have great customer service and fair/easy return policies. Oh well....
