Unauthorized text messages from QVC

This past weekend I downloaded the QVC mobile app on my cell phone.  I was surprised to receive a text message from QVC on Sunday since I have never authorized receiving text messages.  Today, at 5:30 p.m. Eastern, I received another text message from QVC.  STOP IMMEDIATELY!  I have already deleted the mobile app because of the text messages.  Thee must be a connection. I have never authorized any text messages from QVC.

@zanna   I noticed on the contest being offered on the Q there is an auto already checked yes to get emails. When I enter I delete these 2 boxes for auto emails. I have no idea if this is your problem.

I believe you can opt out of receiving text messages by replying STOP to their text

I've used the QVC app on my phones for years,  with no unwanted texts.

 

On the app, go to menu, scroll to More at the bottom, there may be something in your Reminders or Settings to adjust to stop the texts.

 

Also, be sure your settings in your account here reflect your wishes.

Hopefully mods can offer more insight.

It's probably turned on in your settings.

Thanks, everyone, for your suggestions.  As I stated in my original post, I have already deleted the app.  I have checked and rechecked my settings and only email is authorized.  I am familiar with how to opt out.  I have not entered any contest.

 

Interesting that QVC has not offered any assistance.

@zanna. if you want a moderator to reply to your request/concern I believe you must notify them using the @ before their name.  As a defult I use the name beth.

@Susan-QVC  Why the need to unsubscribe when I never subscribed?  I deleted the app Monday evening.  I did not unsubscribe to anything because I had never subscribed to anything.  Magically, I did not receive a text from QVC on Tuesday as I had the two previous days. 

 

Everyone can draw their own conclusions.  I know I have.

I recieved an IM on facebook the other day from Q, and I"ve never had that turned on.  I rarely even go on there to begin with.  

 

@zanna I would look into your account just to make sure it's not on or anything.    Mine wasn't.
