Tracking A Return

[ Edited ]

I took some shoes to the UPS Store yesterday to return.  They will ship USPS now.  They said they couldn't give me a receipt, but I had written the tracking # down to track it.  Today it says "Your item has been tendered to the Returns Agent in my town.  USPS no longer has the item and no further tracking updates are expected."  Who is the Returns Agent?  I don't like that I won't know when QVC gets the return.  You can tell I don't return very many items since I didn't know about all of this.  When should I start looking for the credit on my account?  In a couple of weeks?

They call it different names, sometimes it's the "shipping partner" but they've hired a contractor to pick up all the Q packages at the post office and take them to whoever is providing the next step on the journey.  The post office is seemingly too busy to do this.  You're fortunate as they sometimes sit there several days.

My return tracking is saying the same thing. I don’t like that I have no idea where it is or if it even reached destination.

I will always pull my own label off the UPS site, pay and put it in a UPS box, easy to track and see when it gets delivered

@I am still oxox @Azcowgirl @Kachina624  Thank you for the replies.  I don't think I'll use QVC's label next time, although I keep reading posts about being charged for return shipping even if you paid for it yourself.  That would be frustrating, too.

@NickNack  I think you don't need  to worry about your package.  I bet it'll be just fine.

@Kachina624  I'm not really worried about it.  It's just frustrating not to be able to track it.

I got an e-mail from QVC today saying my return was on its way to them.  It gave me a tracking # for it.  The tracking # takes me to QVC's website to track it.  I'm glad they sent the e-mail.

After they receive it, how long should it be before my credit will probably show up on my credit card?

My experiences with returns is that once it is received by QVC,(if I even can see the tracking--recently it is never updated)  it's about 3 days before I receive an email that it has been processed and $xx.xx amount (minus all the shipping stuff) will be returned to my account within 2 billing cycles. ?? I use a debit card and ask for refunds.  After I receive this email, it takes 4 to 5 days more for it to appear in my bank account

I always when returning a item at the Post Office or UPS get a receipt. I see people drops off returns and leave without getting a receipt. Package get lost, that's on you.

FYI:

I received my last Christmas packages Oct 13, 2017. Two were returns  HSN due to poor quality, I was going to wait until January to return, glad I didn't, the packages were mailed back on Monday Oct 30, 2017.

One package has been received. Believe it or not the 2nd package going to New York did not leave the post office until Nov 02 2017.So if  you have items being return, to any of the shopping channel mail  now or  Dec 26 2017 to get credit before January 31, 2017. My advice it's not worth the hassle, I did about 80% of my Christmas from local retailers, other 20% online. Order nothing from QVC until they figure out their shipping issues.
