I just don't understand how the processing/shipping can get any worse or impossible to understand. On 7/28 I placed an order which is still "in process" and supposed to have been here by 8/4. I can't cancel it at all, so where is it? Then on 8/4 I placed an order which is "preparing your order" and was supposed to be here by 8/12. Another item ordered on the same ticket is already on the way though. I can't cancel this either. What is going on? I get some items rather quickly and others are in limbo somewhere. If it's not coming at all, why can't I cancel it and get off my order status? Somebody needs to work this crazy system out for sure! I used to never have this kind of problem years ago by the way.
Update--Well, one item got sent out yesterday but the other item is still in space somewhere I guess. Really is confusing about when something gets sent or not lately!

It didn't used to be like this for sure.
So either they are understaffed, the inventory software is broken or they are selling things they do not actually on hand.
Why bother anymore? Sad to see.

I have two orders placed on the 5th that still say "preparing your order". This was after they dropped the "Contact CS: on them. No idea what that was about and I didn't bother contacting CS.
It still shows the option to cancel and I think I'm about to do that. It's not as if I need any more stuff.

ETA: In fact, I did just cancel one of them. I placed several orders with Kohl's on Friday and they've already shipped, due for delivery on Monday.
What with the slow shipping on the Q and the "Just Missed It!" message always popping up, someone in the higher echelons needs to address these issues and fast. I didn't buy a thing with yesterday's free shipping, because I kept getting that message. It's not worth my time to save a few bucks.

I ordered a couple of tops on 8/02 that just shipped yesterday 8/09--SEVEN DAYS in processing! And if they arrive on the due date it'll be another SIX DAYS til I receive them.
I know not to order anything that's time-critical, so I'll wait...but this is a bit much!

QVC is causing their own demise.
They are pushing for social media sales via TikTok to get an influx of younger shoppers. Well, the younger crowd tends to expect more immediate results, so they are not going to put with with the super slow shipping QVC is known for. I doubt they will make a second purchase.

I feel controlled by the internet in so many ways....guess I need to get OFF the internet!

I've got two orders from 8/4 that only just started the shipping process, and the sad thing is I'm not the least surprised.
My HSN orders ship quickly. If they share warehouses and technology, why the difference?

@LTT1 - I think it's just plain incompetence and an antiquated system. I literally got emails today for several of the items I tried to buy yesterday.
One of the "back in stock" (it isn't) and another "new lower price" (it isn't, but it also isn't available).
At this point, I don't know what they can do to fix these issues.
