I wouldn't blame the company calling them lousy, bad business practice and criticizing customer service when you should be aware of their cancelation policy.  Very rarely does the cancel button produce any results and if it works done immediately after placing an order.  Has been that way forever.

 

You call yourself "shopped out",  no need to blame the company for their practices it's their candy store their rules.

DON'T blame CS.  They are only allowed to do what mgmt has allowed them to do.  Maybe you have bad shopping practices.  Make up your mind ... it's shopping and you need to be prepared to be stuck with your decisions.

@shopped out.  Just because you don't like a policy, doesn't mean CS is bad.   I'm guessing the item is shipped by the vendor and those order are pretty much set in stone.

 

I recently placed an order for a clothing item and was able to cancel it a couple hours later.  Most retailers have a very brief, liked minutes, window when something can be canceled.

HSN allows you to cancel.  I had to do that this week about 10 minutes after I ordered.  I ordered the wrong item number in error. I was glad I caught it in time, but I should have been more careful...my fault.

 

I would think it would be rare to order and cancel 20-30 minutes later.

 

It's Christmas time.  In order to get shipments out timely, they are acted upon fast and some items are shipped by the vendor.

 

We should strive to be a good customer and be sure we really want the item before we place an order.

ITA.  It's surprising how often people make arbitrary choices ... and then try to blame the retailer for their mistakes.  

 

It's not Customer Service's fault if people impulsively buy.  

 

There's no reason you can't put something in the shopping cart or wish list and re-visit it the next day to make a final decision, one way or the other.
