I do a lot of online shopping. I can only think of one retailer I regularly deal with that allows me to cancel after placing an order.

@Etoile308 There are many websites that offer you at least 30 minutes to cancel or change an order. Off the top of my head, Bloomingdale's, Macy's, and Sephora.

@shopped out If after you place an order, you can go into the order and it states cancel order above the total. I have cancelled this way and it worked. Just don't wait too long, otherwise it doesn't work. Sorry for your experience.
Also, there are many retailers that give you at least 30 minutes to cancel orders..These are just a few: Kohl's, Costco, Target, HSN and Walmart.

Not to put too fine a point on it, but just don't order anything unless you're SURE you want it.
Based on comments here, I think there's way too much impulse buying.
JMO, of course.

I would find out for sure what their cancellation procedure is before ordering again. I haven't tried to cancel an item with them so I can't speak on this. I would think it would be good practice for most places to give a person at least 1/2 hr. to cancel but I guess this is at the discretion of each vendor. Sorry, you had a bad experience.

My opinion is 20 minutes is an unreasonably long time to expect to be able to cancel an online order -- especially during the most crucial sales season for all retailers.
I've only been able to cancel after that long a wait when the order has an advanced delivery date.

Bad business practice. 20 minutes after placing an order they tell me it cannot be canceled because its a TSV. Told to get the item then return it.
I forgot how lousy qvc has become.
Few retailers allow cancellations anymore. Customers are responsible for their own decisions.

I have not encounted any rotten service from QVC - not this year nor any other of the 30 years I've been watching and ordering.
At this time my personal experiences makes me realize the problems are random, but based on non-retail experiences I seem to face daily, I've learned not to compare services unless the companies are relatively the same size. QVC is small compared to Walmart, Amazon, Target. and Cosctc.

@millieshops Totally agree. I've shopped QVC since day one and think their CS is exceptional.
