That's not correct. QVC doesn't refund original shipping. If you use their return label, it's $6.95 or more depending on the product. You can also pay your own shipping if you rather.

Sounds to me as of OP made a very common consumer mistake. She bought something without knowing the return policy of the company she was buying from.
And then, she gives us the pitiful amount of money she got back without telling us how much she'd already paid for those boots - Not much I'd say.
I know lots of buyers don't pay attention to these things until after they get bitten. That's what's disgraceful to me.

@Outraged, It really stinks but they do deduct for shipping out (I think you should receive this back) and return shipping if you use their label which is only fair. I bet they make a lot of money on returns alone. ![]()

A black corduroy jacket w/hood. It has a serpa lined hood and the cuffs are serpa. It was marked down plus I got 35% off the sale price. It will arrive tomorrow. Looking forward to wearing it. It's getting cold where I live. ![]()

OP... did you buy an Easy Pay item? Perhaps you had your return label cost taken from a small first EP?

If you return something and you use your own shipping.....
1) is tracking enough?
2) do they charge you any handling?
Thank you in advance

If you look at their return label it says right there (look at top right hand corner (where a stamp would go facing you) it says $6.95 for most things.
I'm looking at the copper chef return label and it is $8.95 to return that. It costs $5.50 to get the thing sent to me and if I don't like it I have to pay another $8.95 to send it back if I use their label.
I just sent a very, very small box (square) to my daughter in Denver, Colorado. It was very, very light (a few ounces) and it cost me $11 and some cents. The postmaster said, "That's for 2 days (not guaranteed) and I said, "What's the cheapest"? He said 7 days and there's just a few cents difference!
The post office has gotten crazy with their costs. Mailing a card is "sometimes" still under 50 cents, but lately I've had the postmaster (whatever they're called) run the envelope through a slot to make sure it is totally flat. So, I just normally stick 2 stamps on a simple birthday card. That comes to almost $1.
What it all boils down to is shipping something is expensive to start with and QVC has decided they WILL NOT absorb the cost of shipping.
I belong to Amazon Prime so many of the things I buy there is free (well worth joining for me).
Everything I buy is on easy pay or I don't buy it because I don't NEED it in the first place. I'm like some of you with the refund.....
I received a refund for $1.84 the other day. That isn't unusual. I can't walk around in stores due to physical problems, and I'm a plus size (around XL - 1X) as many of you know it's more difficult to buy something on line unless you have a good idea of sizing.
That said, I'm finding in the past maybe 2 years (it's getting worse) I can't rely on QVC sizing! I just sent back 4 (yes, 4) pair of shoes (ordered from QVC) and I don't know how many packages of clothes that don't fit (all QVC).
It's getting easier to resist the temptation of buying clothes on QVC these days because their sizing is very off and I'm tired of hauling this stuff back to the post office.
I don't like it, but I don't blame QVC for charging shipping because I know it's expensive to mail out things (I send a lot of stuff to family and friends). The costs are stupid expensive these days. Yet we constantly hear that the post office is hemorrhaging money???!!! It is either the employees are being overpaid or mismanagement.
I know several people who are 'old timers' with the post office and I know the post office is trying to buy out their contract (much like the Federal Government is doing with employees)....why? Well, they pay newly hired people way less money. Post Office employees used to get amazing benefits and good salaries. New one's coming in are mostly considered part-time and medical, etc is not covered (saving money) but we don't benefit (the consumer I mean) from it
A lot of people don't understand this since the Post Office seems to have a monopoly on mailing but they are NOT considered Federal Government. They just have a monopoly mailing.
Recently you may have noticed packages coming from other places (something called Laser or Lazer). They are a new delivery company.
Here's the info on the shipping company QVC sometimes uses:
http://www.lasership.com/contact-us/independent-contractors
Obviously, QVC isn't changing (they have a gold mine here with us paying them) so my answer to this problem is to order way less....I don't NEED any of it anyway.

I received a .29 return on a pair of boots. I called and was told that QVC charges 5.00 for the return label that comes with any product and 6.75 for actually returning the product. Are they serious? Outrageous and I will never purchase anything else there again. Disgraceful!
It's frustrating, isn't it? I think you may have misunderstood the charges, though. They charged you the original shipping ($5.00) and then the cost to use their return label ($6.95), and I'm guessing you used Easy Pay which is why the "refund" is so miniscule.
So now we are expected to pay shipping both ways to try something on and find that it doesn't fit. Ridiculous but it is what it is.
