In my hometown, the local radio station has a popular DJ who reads entries from his anger diary.  They are always very funny because the things that he rants about are things that make life more difficult for other, but the solutions are so simple and just require a bit of common sense.  It is always ridiculous that people  even have to complain about such fixable, silly annoyances.  I feel my own Q rant coming on.

This weekend, I found an AS IS item that I really, really wanted to order, but it was a higher priced piece of jewelry, and I thought I would wait a day or two and hope that one of the flash easypays would happen.  Obviously it did not, but while reading about a poster trying to use EASYPAY on request, I remembered that I had not yet used mine.  When I tried to use it, it would not work, so I tried to use the chat feature hoping someone could help me.  The chat person said that he or she could not place an order for me, so I called CS.  After a LONG LONG wait, I gave up and tried again a bit later.  After another LONG LONG wait, I finally spoke to a person who gave me another number to call but informed me that there were 500 calls ahead of me.  I gave up and thought that i would order the item without easypay, but by then the item was gone.  I really wanted it and am so sad.

Today I tried to order a LOGO shirt that was a lunchtime special.  When I clicked on the size and color, I saw the words IN STOCK, but when I added the item to my cart and tried to check out, the cart was empty.  I kept trying over and over again, but the supposedly IN STOCK item could not be added to my cart.

Now for the rants.  A big, successful company like QVC should never have customers complain about problems like these which should never exist or which should be able to be fixed in an instant:

1.  If as a company if you are going to offer the EASY PAY on request, make sure it works before you send out information to the customers.  If you do encounter a problem, which after reading the boards seem to exist for several customers, FIX THE PROBLEM.

2.  If you are going to have a website and encourage people to shop online, make sure people can easily put items into the cart and check out.  If you encounter a problem, FIX THE PROBLEM.  I can see by reading the boards that again several posters are having trouble getting the items into the cart.

3.  If your computer specialists can't fix the computer problems, hire some that can.  There are so many skilled and professional computer specialists today.  A big company like Q should only settle for the best.

4.  If as a company you offer a CHAT service, make sure the employee is a customer service representative who can solve customer service problems.  I do not believe that I have ever had a problem solved by one of these chat people.  If a CHAT person is just a warm body directing customers to call customer service, then  QVC should end this service and use the money used to pay these people to hire qualified computer technicians to fix this website.

Rant over.

I can't tell you how many times in the past two weeks that happened to me.  It's very annoying.  Ended up giving up.  Their loss.

Any time you ask for something out if the norm, there are problems and that's not just at QVC.
