I have a Dooney & Bourke bag, A369626, on waitlist in the color Light Taupe. At the time, all available colors were offered on waitlist. I check all the time. Sometimes I see one color that is now in stock, but only briefly. Today, when I checked, both Light Taupe and Black were in stock.

How are waitlist orders filled? I would think QVC would fill waitlist orders first before offering the bag to new shoppers.

Is it better for me to order the bag now that it is in stock and cancel the waitlist?

Are the ones that appear and disappear ones that are returned and possibly defective?

@susanj that’s a great question and I’m curious to know as well. Have you called them?  Just wonder what they have to say.

My small experience with waitlist has been okay - I order the item agreeing with their policy and they notify me when it’s been shipped which is usually in a few days.

The only exception I have is a Kirks Folly item I’ve been trying to get for over a year now. I renew the waitlist when they advise it has ended. I have called a couple of times just wondering why it stays in their ordering line up and they suggest to keep ordering. Getting kinda weird at this point. Good luck to you.

One of the moderators, Beth, once said that waitlist means QVC has asked the manufacturer to make more in order to fill the requests to purchase.

Backorder is when the inventory originally advised of was incorrect. QVC normally gives the manufacturer two weeks to fill/produce the item.

I tried an experiment since the listing had my color bag, Light Taupe, in stock. I went to the waitlist order and clicked on Edit Order. It took me to the listing, where I choose my same color Light Taupe and then back to the order. At that point the order showed my item was in stock and no mention of waitlist.

But a few hours later, my order was back to waitlist. Though now it states that my bag will arrive by Oct. 18.

I think it is possible that QVC is waiting for new stock to be made. And since I have an arrival date, maybe the stock is almost in the factory to be shipped.

Thanks for your answers!
