I was going to purchase a Susan  Graver petite tunic on lunch time specials for $23.99 A567184 but then I noticed the same item only in  a regular size A567184 for $18.99.

I called customer service and the male representative said that he doesn't set the prices!

what?? I buy petite because I am short and sleeves on regular size are way too long. Why must I pay more foe the same item? Original price on both were $73 which I would never pay for that!

Not a happy customer!

You dont want it badly if you'd quibble over $5., especially when it's so inexpensive to begin with, compared to what it was originally.

The item for regular is A567183. I had on my wishlist two small lamps that were $66.00 on a free shipping day and I didn't buy them. The shipping and handling was $7.50. The next day when I checked my waitlist it had dropped to $44.00. I quickly purchased even though the s&h was $7.50. I figured I still saved money and got a Topcashback rebate of 10%. 

Also, Befrugal has a 10% cash back.  So you would get $2.40 back. I think I would go ahead and purchase for such a small difference.

Different skus got marked down or promoted at different times for different reason.  My guess is that the petite version sold better than the regular.  The same thing happens with different colors...some get marked down and some don't.

@avt I have seen this many times. This is not new. It is a separate item. Even some colors will be marked down on the exact same item but other colors are not. It's basically supply and demand.

It appears there were more regular sizes available so QVC is attempting to lower the price to sell out what they have stocked. Like @Kachina624 said, if you really wanted it you could buy it at the $5 extra. If not, wait a few weeks, perhaps the petite will become a lower price. I have seen this happen many times as well.

Different size ranges and different colors are often different prices.  I'm sure it has to do with the amount of stock of each.  If they have a huge surplus of a particular size or color, it makes sense they'd mark it down more.  At least it makes sense to me.

A $5 difference on an item that was $73?  No big deal.

@avt You'd still be saving nearly $50.  That isn't enough?

Other retailers do the same thing. It's not unusual.

Amazon does that on shoes. Different sizes different prices. I assume it depends on how many they have of the size you want. The old supply demand.
