I placed an order for a Dell laptop computer on 9/4/16 and paid the extra shipping so that i would receive this item fast., suosedly by 9/7/16. Well, it never showed up so i called and called customer service and they said it was just showing in process. Finally, 9/8/16 i called Qvc again and was told it shipped 9/8/16-i needed this computer for work by the way- so i asked why it had not shipped and the manager informed me "that it was a large dollar amount, and they had to check " on it first. NO ONE told me this and i was just given the run around and to me this is really poor buisness . If i had been informed of this huge delay on an important item i would have cancelled immediately. Oh yes, they sure took the money from my account in record time!!!!! I am cancelling my order and going to a local retailer who really wants the sale. Sad- i have done buisness with Qvc for awhile now but never again.

How annoying and disappointing. I think it is usually a safer bet to buy locally or with Amazon Prime if you need something by a specific date. I can't say I find QVC to have reliable shipping.

I ordered the Bottle Brush Garland that was advertised as a set of 2 for the price. I kept receiving one per box and they kept sending me another set. It continued to arrive with just one in it. I purchased 3 sets and I now only have 5 individual ones instead of the 6 I paid for. They decided it was a mistake to sell 2 in a set and won't send me the last one. I received a letter that it was a mistake. Well it's on them as they even raised the price of which I wouldn't pay them that amount for 2 but they think they are going to sell one at that price! Customer service is of no help what so ever and I'm now going back to shopping at Amazon!

So you order an expensive item with express shipping, and QVC has the order go through verification before shipping.  This does not equal "poor customer relations."  In fact, QVC was being responsible to its shareholders and its other customers.

A purchase such as this (particularly if it were ordered on Easy Pay) is indeed suspicious.  A lot of theft and fraud takes pace this way.  Some people (I am not implying this is the case with the OP) will place such orders -- many times using stolent credit card information -- and get the merchandise and then skip out on the remaining payments or, in the case of stolen credit card information, the card company will ultimtely charge back the purchse, leaving QVC stuck with the bill.  These costs get passed on to other shoppers.  So, it only makes sense for QVC (and othe shopping channels) to verify these purchases.

While I appreciate the inconvenience for the OP, I do find it a bit ridiculous to order a computer from a shopping channel when it is an item that one needs immediately for work.  Not only does one have to deal with shipping, but if there is an issue and the item needs to be returned for replacement, how long will the turnaround be?  Plus, shopping channel computers tend to be older technology and higher priced than one can find locally.  Going to a local store would have been a smarter decision.

I'm sorry for your frustration. I have found that paying for fast shipping only effects the time that the shipper has to get it to your door once they receive the item. It doesn't speed up the process in the warehouse getting the item pulled, packaged & to the shipper.

Also, to the point that @KYToby made, I have new insight to this aspect. Last Saturday I went to my mailbox & there was a box in it. I assumed it was the pjs I ordered the grandsons for Christmas, so I didn't even look at the label. It was the cutest Burberry Burgunday Handbag from Nordstrom. I do shop at Nordstrom, but my account is in my name. This box was labeled with my husband's name & my address. When I called CS they said that they should have caught it, because it had a different email address, Someone had ordered this $995 purse & a $900 parka. She said that they (the bad guys) place an order & when they get the UPS tracking number they call UPS & reroute the package. This purse had shipped USPS, so they weren't able to do that & CS recalled the parka. So luckily Nordstrom recovered their items. I had to mail the purse back, bummer. It was cute. LOL But, I suppose this is why QVC took the extra time to verify your purchase.

It sounds like either your payment method needed to be verified or you don't have a purchase history.  I've bought expensive items from qvc and there were no delays in processing or shipping the order.

@shugs  If you need something fast, just go buy it at a local store. Do not buy it on QVC and expect it fast.

In my opinion, QVC should alert the customer if additional time is needed to process an order.

How can you cancel your order when it's already been shipped?  Are they going to be blamed when you can't do that, either?
