Many people are going to discover this board gone one day and with them will go all references to how to get on the Proforums. I hope people are keeping notes.
I belatedly went over there Tuesday evening and was surprised to see so many there. I struggled to figure out how to do my avatar, but gave up. It was too late and my brain just wasn't getting it right.
@Tinkrbl44 I will help you do that if you want to. If you have a account you can sign in with me, and I can talk you through it if you want. I really like the boards, but it is just different. I think we lost some in all the confusion. But it is a good idea to have it set up incase they close this.

I enjoy both boards. I suggest you get a account with them and set it up. It is really a nice board and the Mods are really nice. I do like this board to discuss products being sold and also there are people here that won't go anywhere else. I will help anyone that has questions if you want.

They don't owe anyone a published explanation. You already know there were IT issues.
That said, I think they'll put minimal effort into forums since it's obvious they would rather shut them down. Maybe they want to make people angry so they'll go away and have less throwback when they do shut them down.
My plan was and is to chime in minimally about this situation. It's over, I'm glad the boards are back and nothing said now will make a difference to what happened. What's done is done. That said, I feel this bears response because to me, it isn't what about we might or might not be 'owed', it's about what might have been a simple matter of consideration and an expression of good will...
Most of us were able to quickly discern there had been another site glitch, but some were left confused and feeling lost. None of us was afforded information or updates. Instead, that blasted 'we heard you' banner just continued to wave, with fewer and fewer folks able to access the 'live' boards.
It wouldn't have been a stretch for someone associated with QVC to have posted a simple supportive and minimally informational statement for those feeling at sea during this somewhat lengthy interruption. Instead, there was complete silence and that seemed discourteous and unfeeling.

I don't know what happened, but I received four e-mails exactly the same from QVC on Nov 3rd and 4th. It appears they took down my account, then reinstated it.
I could not sign on to the forums all week though. Did everyone else receive the e-mail?
I edited my first name out.

@Carmie I never received any e-mail like yours probably because I never bothered contacting QVC in any manner about repeated attempts to sign onto the Forums side that just took me in an endless loop without gaining access from November 3 until yesterday, the 11th.
I was ALWAYS able, during that time, to access the "shoppinng, ordering, and order status side, and the main page.
I found out by already being a member of the Proboards mellyg section (joined in early October after the announced November 2 finis of the QVC forums) about the increasing inability of many, many folks to sign on to forums here.
A quite baffling and frustating experience for me, to say the least, and it impacted my purchases during the "blackout" so I went from eight (I think) buys in October to I think to just three in November during the hiatus.
Just curious: Did QVC actually take away your customer/shopping account as well as your forums access?
The entire situation was absolutely bizzare and in terms of communication to its customers/forum members I believe QVC exhibited an epic fail. I am happy I joined both the Proboards and the Delphiforums Wisteria Lane sites. Personallly it has saved me a great deal of angst since early October to date.
Best to you for a pleasant weekend. I've always enjoyed your willingness to share your knowledge with other forum members in a straightforward, simple, informative manner.

@aroc3435 I never reached out to anyone at QVC, not even when the forums went down.
I very seldom order anything from QVC so I was not aware if my account was closed or not.
I just know that I couldn't sign I go the forums on Oct 2 and I received two e-mails from qvc on both on the 3rd and 4th, but like you, I couldn't sign on to the forums.
I signed on to Proboards the first day it was available...in fact, I was a Mod for about the first two weeks. There was an incident with a fellow Mod where she baited and made a nasty comment about another poster. Several posters reported her.
It was late at night and no other mods were on the board to discuss this with and I took it upon myself to delete her nasty comments and part of the thread because other posters copied her post to complain about her nastiness and I treat everyone the same...no favorites.
The next day I suggested we needed some guidelines in place on how to handle a situation where a Mod breaks the posting rules.
From there, things went sour. The Mod denied baiting and being nasty to a poster, etc. and I was unable to sign in to Proboards for a few days after that. When I finally could sign back in, I found out I was no longer a Mod. i guess I got fired. I have the screen prints of the post in question, but the Admin was not interested.
I did not feel comfortable on Proboards after that, so I no longer go there.
I'll just stay on the QVC forums until they close. When they do, I will miss everyone,
I wish you a great weekend as well.

@stevieb I think you have hit on something. A lot of ill will that sometimes crops up at QVC could be avoided if they would just "fess up." TELL us the order will be late, the real price when you are on air, tell us what shipping really is, etc.
It is childish when a company tried to not be direct with its customers so we all know where we stand.

@Carmie I'm sorry to hear about your PB experience and your experience as a moderator. I say this because some minor concerns are emerging about whether some appointed moderators are up to the job and are able to separate personal views, opinions and biases from the role of moderating a forum. There are also questions looming about when a moderator is posting as a member versus as a moderator, and related concerns about playing the moderator card whenever someone might disagree with them or choosing to shut down a thread they simply don't like in the absence of any other clear and valid reason.
Overall, I have found most of the moderators, most of the time, to perform as one might expect they should but there have been times when the distinction between roles as moderators and as regular posters appear blurred for some. I have considered raising this question either on the 'how can we improve' forum or in a private message either to all of them or to those I feel have handled themselves in a manner that's above reproach. Hey, there's no harm in anyone not being cut out for the role, but it begins to seem perhaps the title might have gone to a head or two over there.

@stevieb I know exactly what you are saying. I brought up those very concerns when I was there.
The mods can talk amongst themselves behind the scenes and if a mod does not like what somone is saying or what they have expressed on the QVC forums....they get a bee in their bonnet and want to so something about it.
I had to remind them that we must remain neutral and not take things personal, but I suppose it is difficult for some people.
My job of 25 years required this and It is not a problem for me. I hope all goes well over there. it was a nice place and I enjoyed it, but it got mentally draining for me. It is not easy to disagree with your coworkers in a nice way when they are not open to your opinions.
The Mod that caused the problems is very passive aggressive, controlling, manipulative and sneaky. When I called her out politely, she said she had problems with me before.
I don't think that is true. I didn't know her or have any interaction with her on the qvc forums to the best of my knowledge. When I looked her up, she didn't have many postings compared to most...less than 2000.
I am sure in time, the other Mods will figure her out or be able to keep her under control.
I thank you for your kind words. Hang in there.
