The snaps on the lids of several of my pieces have broken off. Also on gifts that I have given. Last one broke, with never being used, because it fell off the counter. How does the presentation drop them and not have breakage.

 

It seems there's a difference in the lids based on the country of manufacture. Vietnam is thinner.

 

Can additional lids be purchased and if so where?

I've noticed it a lot on the new LnL's.  I had two sets I wanted to give as gifts and I went through them to make sure they were okay.  I opened everyone and the tabs broke off on two of them on one set and one on the other.  Unfortunately 30 days had already passed by.  They are much "thinner" made now.  You can tell by how loose they feel when you "unlock" them.  It's almost like they are worn out.

I've also noticed the new ones are thinner.  I've owned many over the years, but haven't had any tabs break.

I've found them to be very poor quality.  I bought 1 set years ago and it was in the trash in no time.

Yes, the quality has really started to slip with Lock & Lock  I purchased a set of containers on Lunchtime Special Values that I really like.  I wish QVC would try to get more of this brand, Click Close, in.  The flaps on the lids are sturdier, and the containers are thicker.

I had one fall out of the freezer and the body of the container broke. They show them knocking them off a counter, so I called Lock & Lock. They wouldn't help me, so I then called QVC. The customer rep took the info down and looked up the set I had ordered. She told me that she would order a replacement right then and I could expect it in the mail in a week. She said it would be from stuff that had been returned. Okay, happy. I waited the week and no replacement. I called again and was told they don't do that. A replacement would have to come from L & L not from the Q. No replacement, and no they don't carry that set anymore. The customer service rep lied to me just to get me off the phone.

It was a nestable set of small. medium, and a larger with all the same tops. K-27933 I bought back on 3/8/2010.
