Sometimes these new hosts are terrible when in training.   It won't work training them during the day.

there are a total of 4 QVC channels.......QVC3 is all repeats. the QVC2 channel can easily be used for training hosts, although i am not sure they are hiring or training any at this time.

That's pretty important news ( and they have a moderator relay it to us ). In reality, I'd say they can't find good hosts, and the best ones have quit. Whoever is at the helm of QVC should go back to their magic kingdom.

Re: Is the Q Ending 24 Hour Programming?

@AuntG  I firmly believe this isn't something they want to have highly publicized. They probably thought they could 'sneak it in' and the bulk of the fall out would be right here on  these boards. To take this approach more or less signals that what they've been doing for programming has not been successful and they're looking at cutting costs. One might surmise they don't want that perception out there in the business community and hence their choice to take a low profile about this change to fewer live presentations. Interesting that they have expanded to three channels (exclusive of HSN) and now they'll be running repeat videotapes on all three. I continue to feel they are in disarray, don't know what to do about it and simply refuse to try anything innovative. For the record, more repetition is not innovative.

Well, I still feel badly for those folks for whom QVC is background noise, companionship through a lonely night and/or their actual purchasing time. People watch TV, not just QVC, for reasons of their own.

I think they have way too many channels.    i can see why they are losing money.

Re: Is the Q Ending 24 Hour Programming?

typical qvc lack of communication, imagine, getting this information as post to someone's original post. Golly gee, qvc continues it downward spiral, no wonder sales are declining.  Obviously, they are cutting costs, their shipping, processing, customer service and return's department hasn't improved after 9 months stating it would, and instead of posting something on their website it is only answered by a qvc employee who covers the boards????????????????? What type of business does this????????The answer, only qvc

Re: Is the Q Ending 24 Hour Programming?

and to think the CEO still has a job at qvc with all the complaints for 9 months going strong about shipping, processing, returns, unbelievable. No wonder they turned regular program off after 2 am, the poor newly hired hosts, hope they have a contract in place so they are still paid even though they don't work.

@SeaMaiden   Did it ever occur to you that hospital employees, policemen, firemen and military do not live by the same hours as the general public and that they, too, have money to spend and oftentimes that is their source of shopping when they work odd- and on-call hours.  Please --- be more respectful and thoughtful of those people in service areas who are doing the work to save lives and serve the public.
