I thought thread count was only for sheets, not towels. 

 

Fabric content percentages are different from thread counts.

Just because a product description is incomplete doesn't mean they are trying to hide anything.  

 

BTW, I assume you know that fabric softeners can make towels less absorbent.

@wagirl.  100% means it's all cotton regardless of the thread count.  They are two different things.

@Kachina624 --my go to sheets are 400TC ---but I require that 60% of the 400 TC be 100%  cotton and the other 40%, polyester. Have many sets that are that combo. 100% cotton sheets are not very long lasting, adding the poly makes them softer and last longer.

@Tinkrbl44 --yes it is--was just agreeing that descriptions don't always tell you content---thread count is the # of cotton strands per inch. Can be really low or really high---for sheets --towels--are a different beast.
