Theres one good reason why they'd sell an item on check hold to someone with a good credit card:

I've ordered items and paid by my card, only to have the item put on wait list, or an advanced order, a few days later.  Fact of the matter is, QVC often over sells popular products.  When hosts say only X-number left, I just laugh.  I doubt if it's really an exact science at QVC>
