I have to say i have often paid by check .....and i have experienced the same situations as the poster.....i have always sent my check right away....never waited but have then been told there is no stock  left (although there was plenty of stock when i ordered)..............it isn't a matter of

indecision.................they do not reserve an item for you when you pay by check and they never have...............it is all up to chance if you will def receive the item.....or be informed it isn't in stock anymore or they put you on a waitlist..............................

Maybe Q should just drop the option to pay by check. I don't think they will lose sales over it. Will probably make life for customer service a little easier.

I don't know how long Q will wait for check payment. They should set a 7 business day rule. If they don't receive it in the time frame ship the item to the next person on waitlist. Maybe that's what Q does I have no idea.

I have been told when i have sent my check right away that day....that they don't have that item in stock.....i don't believe they hold any item until they receive a check....I would like the 7 day business rule....that would be fair...

They already have that "rule."  You have 7 or 10 days to get your check in.

They don't give a darn if you pay by check ,cash or credit card.........they sell out items immediately and no matter how you pay if you get the item you are lucky if not well ..............???

that is the way the Q has always been!

Have you never bought an item only to find it sold out anyway  and you are put on waitlist.

I am one that uses "check hold" or whatever it is called ,untill I can get to my computer and check out the size chart. Especially when the host snags me with the age old tale of ,"this is selling out quickly"    I fall for it everytime.......lol

I do NOT consider myself a bad customer.....lol...not when my monthly, way over $1,000 Q card  bill is paid in full ahead of time every month!

@Illini79  Since you opted to delete the text in your post, I'll just wave as you ride into the sunset.  I was able to get the gist of your complaint and agree with others.

I get why they do this.  The check option is there for those who probably have no credit cards and still use checks - not to reserve items you may or may not want to purchase!!  It is not right to use the check option to "reserve" an item while deciding if you really want it!!  Someone who really wants to buy it is then not able to if it sells out because you are holding it.  If you're not sure you really want it, just take the chance that it will be there when you finally do your research and decide it's "right for you"!!

Hi @Pook ITA.  I have read several posts that say "I bought that item on check hold to mull it over..." Huh?  Check hold?  There is no such thing as a check hold.  Either purchase and send in your check asap like that day, or don't purchase it.  I don't know why the Q accepts checks anyway.

Hmm why delete your post, to me that says you do not stand by what you have said or you can not take the comments, if so why make a big deal, just leave, it is doubtful that you will even be missed.

It's probably the latter, some of the comments make it sound as if the OP was using the check payment option to hold while she decided. Maybe she expected others did this, too, then would say she didn't deserve to be stopped by Qvc. Not

Last night, for whatever reason, I was thinking that we hadn't had a good "check hold" thread discussion in a long time.  I actually meant to check and see if they still offerred it.

Thanks for posting!
