I returned an item for exchange and after 3 weeks it still had not arrived. So I emailed CS and he said they would send out the exchange since my return was on the way. I received it in 2 days! That was wonderful!
However, I returned an item for a refund and found out for the first time that they also deduct the postage I paid to receive it. I can't quite understand that. I paid for the shipping so why do they take it back? It's seems like a very draconian thing to do. I paid for the shipping so why do they think they have to have that back too? I'm hoping someone can help me understand. ![]()

@whyid this so lame I can't tell you why they made that decision, but it's been the QVC policy for a number of years now.

QVC has to pay UPS to deliver the package to you. Why would QVC refund money they paid UPS?
If QVC refunded those shipping charges, who will reimburse them? UPS wouldn't because they performed the service. QVC would lose money unless they raised prices.

I thought I was paying the $3.50 to have the item shipped to me. The shipping vendor gets that money so it's a final transaction. Why does the Q take that back too?

Would a brick and motor store reimburse you for the gas, wear and tear, time etc when you return for an exchange since you already made th.at trip once

@whyid this so lame You paid the $3.50 for shipping and it was shipped to you. That money is spent and gone. QVC can then refund you for the item. The fact that they are not refunding the $3.50 does not mean that you are paying for it twice.

Well the 3.50 is still in play when the Q adds it to the return shipping label fee. 6.95 plus 3.50. I don't know of any other vendor that does that.

This happens to allow them the leeway to only charge 3.50 in the first place. During one period shipping was more like 6.95 and up. That's when returns were free. Their hope was to have fewer returns. For example, people would order several tops to see which color they liked best, keep one, and return the rest for free.
