Placed an order for an item shown in stock. Sat in processing for a few days and then I checked my account today and it's marked backordered.
Going forward I suggest QVC have stock status/counts accurate. If an item is backordered it should be marked as much. Perhaps this will help you keep future customers. I personally won't ever use QVC again as my time was wasted.

I have had that happen more than once. Each time I delete the order. I agree that they should be more up to date with the ordering system.
I've also had items pop up as sold out as I am going thru the ordering process,

I think the OP has every right to be upset. I don't think it's too much for a retailer to notify a customer prior to ordering that an item is backordered. Some will have on their website that an item will not be available until a specified date.
I think any retailer that is struggling would do well to listen to its customers.

so sorry an order was cancelled.
i've had orders cancelled from various places a few times.
just this morning amazon canceled one.
i've been ordering for several decades so it's never a surprise but it can by annoying

@Blake240. Don't be too alarmed by the backorder status. You didn't say what your item was but many are shipped directly from other countries to arrive by a set date. If they're delayed and don't arrive in time, the item may go to backorder status. I've have had this happen several times but in all cases, my item shipped within a week.
QVC certainly should notify customers when this happens. In fact, in the last couple of weeks I have received notification on two items advising me they're would be a delay. You must have your email preferences set properly to received such notifications.

That's too bad, but for me I have had some issues now and then but mostly good. Been shopping here for years. My only regret is I buy too much. LOL
In fact I have ordered 7 Christmas presents so far and only 1 left to arrive and shipped out yesterday. People will be complaining about that come December. Order early I say.
You can have issues anywhere you buy from. Just need to get to know how the Q operates and go with the flow. Stuff happens.
