IMO there should be no sending checks in.  I think if someone wants to pay by check, they should give all their bank information to QVC and the money should be deducted from the person's checking account, or a hold place, when the order is made.

Why not sign up for a Paypal account and link your checking account to it so the money pulls out that way. Same end result and no sending in a check.

@Lipstickdiva.  Great idea!

Yes, we're all sick of shipping woes.

I write checks when I am at the grocery store.  My kids roll their eyes.  I don't want to have or use a debit card.  Kudos to the OP for not wanting to get into credit card debt, even if it is paid off every month, it is still credit.

OMG I dread getting in a check out line behind someone writing a check.

@Diamond Gal   Instead of writing checks for purchases, have you considered buying gift cards for yourself?

Some stores don't even take them anymore.

I never write checks.  If you don't want to use a credit or a debit card, use Paypal.

Checks will be obsolete eventually, IMO.

ITA - at the company where I work we do payments this way a lot. The customer provides the routing # & the account # and we get our payment. So easy.

I do write one for trash and the city water/sewer bill.  But I don't like it on line when they say, you can win when you enter on Instagram.  I don't have that.  I don't use a phone, that allows you to do apps.  I'm still doing ok.  That's the only area that things vary for me.

Re: Check Discrimination

[ Edited ]

When I buy something from QVC, I use PayPal.  PayPal can be used to have the money taken from your checking account instead of writing a check.  In addition, if you do this and need to return the item.  PayPal will pay for the return shipping...up to 12 times a year.

I would never send a check to QVC.  It takes too long and many people use the check feature to hold an item.  If they want it, they will pay with a cc card.  If not, they will just let the hold expire.

Soon, I think QVC will not take checks.  It ties up their inventory because, people take advantage and use it the wrong way.

My pet pieve -- I'm tired of getting discrimated against because I send in checks instead of using a credit card.

Another item I ordered is on backorder -- even though I mailed my check promptly.  I've been a loyal customer for 20 years and have never bounced a check in my life.  Don't see why QVC can't cash it immediately instead of holding it forever.

Once I place my order that item should be on hold for me,

Now I'll have to wait weeks for a new supply or I may not get my item at all.

Another complaint -- for the past year, shipping is taking forever. Don't know what the problem is, but it's annoying.

Just pay by credit card.... why go through all of that?  Most business do not even take checks anymore.

@staciesmom Haha, then don't get in line behind me.  I have a knack of getting in the slowest line anyway, LOL!

@staciesmom  The few times I use a check in the grocery store, I have everything filled out except the amount. I can fill that in faster then using the cc machine.
