My pet pieve -- I'm tired of getting discrimated against because I send in checks instead of using a credit card.

Another item I ordered is on backorder -- even though I mailed my check promptly.  I've been a loyal customer for 20 years and have never bounced a check in my life.  Don't see why QVC can't cash it immediately instead of holding it forever.

Once I place my order that item should be on hold for me,

Now I'll have to wait weeks for a new supply or I may not get my item at all.

Another complaint -- for the past year, shipping is taking forever. Don't know what the problem is, but it's annoying.

Penealized  is an accuracte descriptive word . Seems to me retail stores have some rule abt  returning items when you pay by check ... don't remember  the rule imposed by local retailers.

Re: Check Discrimination

[ Edited ]

I'm surprised they still even take checks.  It's kind of an antiquated way of doing business.

Yes, we're all sick of shipping woes.

I write checks when I am at the grocery store.  My kids roll their eyes.  I don't want to have or use a debit card.  Kudos to the OP for not wanting to get into credit card debt, even if it is paid off every month, it is still credit.

IMO there should be no sending checks in.  I think if someone wants to pay by check, they should give all their bank information to QVC and the money should be deducted from the person's checking account, or a hold place, when the order is made.

Why not sign up for a Paypal account and link your checking account to it so the money pulls out that way. Same end result and no sending in a check.

You can thank all the scammers and check bouncers who have come before you.  QVC can't give you special treatment over other check writers because that WOULD be discrimination - they must treat all check writers the same.  I have never written a check to QVC and don't have a criminal mind, but QVC has to protect themselves from those that are out to get something for nothing.  Blame them for your inconvenience.  As always, it's always a few bad apples that spoil things for everyone else.

@Puppy Lips, I haven't written a check at the grocery story in a very long time but when people do, it is run through a machine and handed back to the check writer and their account is debited immediately for the amount of the check.

@Suzeecat, and all those people who never bother to send in their check or they used to wait for reviews and if they were good, they would change their payment method over to a CC and if the reviews were bad, they'd never send in the check.  People used to post about doing this all the time.

@Lipstickdiva I know some retailers do that, but not at my local grocery store.  They keep the check and it is a day or two before it clears my account.

Many have shipping woes stories, this has been noted here for a long time now.

I must be in the minority. Receiving my goods still takes pretty much the same amt of time they always have, 4-6 days. I get excited when I get something in 3 days.
