I purchased the Shark vacuum on 6/29.  Last week I called and cancelled it.  I called twice after since I didn't get a cancellation notice in my email.  Today I have a tracking number for it so I called and asked why it wasn't cancelled.  All I was told is they will try to cancel.  I said UPS hasn't picked it up yet and if I get it they will get it back and I expect a pickup. Has this happened to anyone else.  I cancelled last week at the beginning of the week.  7/21 and it's 3 weeks from the order date.  I did ask if others had gotten theirs and some have within a fair amount of time.  I purchased a vacuum locally so no need for it.  I told them when I cancelled I was buying locally but no one listens.

my experience has been that if I don't cancel an item within an hour of ordering, I will receive it. You waited way too long.

@kismet.  you should know that canceling an order beyond the canceling time limit is risky and almost always results in a delivery.  This was probably a vendor shipped item.

Why are you surprised?

I waited a fair amount of time being told there was a problem in the warehouse.  I never had to cancel anything in all the years I've been buying from QVC.  Now I know what to do.

I didn't plan on cancelling it so I wouldn't go on in a few hours to cancel.

Lesson learned after all these years of buying.  I think buying locally is a better choice.  Oh, and I got my vacuum in 3 days of ordering.

I like HSN's cancellation policy, easy peasy, you have until midnight the day of your purchase to cancel with no issues.

Once it goes into processing and sometimes that happens within minutes of ordering, it is too late to cancel.

I don't really care what the unwritten policy is, if I order and it doesn't have a confirmation of processing or shipping they will have a heck of a fight on their hands if they don't cancel the order when I request it. I got into that last year with an order that didn't appear to process. I called the credit card company and had them cancel the charge.

And you received the item then and kept it?  I'm not understanding what you wrote.
