@candicookie

That's usually an IT glitch that sometimes Customer can help solve.  Emailing the QVC Social Team doesnt help as they need to have an order already placed. A phone call is necessary.

At least that's what I experienced recently when an order couldnt be placed to my address. One that I've used for 20 years.

I live in California and get that with tons of stuff from Etsy, amazon!!  It has to do with the ingredients, or materials used in that item that are toxic or on the state of California list.

My guess is what @shoekitty said, that the material used has something that California requires a warning (like they think it's carcinogenic) for, and instead of giving the warning they just choose not to sell it there.

I have noticed on Amazon, reading glasses of a certain magnification can't ship.  I would guess it is some state restriction that they aren't willing to, or can't meet.  Maybe NY requires a prescription.

@shoekitty     Yup...lived there 25 years.   "Christmas" decorations were especially a HUGE problem.

I retired in Arizona...not a problem HERE!!!!!   I guess you can poison yourself if you want to.      di

@candicookie - This problem showed up recently on another thread.  There's the possibility that the item was sold out and the system throws up this erroneous message.

It's worth trying again (things show up back in stock), if you still want the item.  I can't imagine why a clothing item wouldn't be shipped to California.

Shoekitty said,  well we are  a free state, and we do have a congress that votes these laws in, lol!   California  voters voted for this. We are also the 5 th leading economy in the world. Some things are a little strict. But if you have lived here all your life like me you would remember the SMOG alert, bad air and toxic fumes. There were times my kids couldn't go outside, asthmatics suffered greatly.   Starting in 70's they started doing something about it. Even if we go to TJ Maxx there are tons of items in housewares with toxic warnings. Prop 65 I think.  We can buy it, but we are warned. However, if it is coming from out of state, they obey the laws. So you have to look for the same item sold here.  Lol
