Why does QVC offer auto delivery and then not deliver!!! One item said it was discontimued and for a while they didn't show it but guess what, it's back!!! Of course the price is higher. Another item was suppoded to be shiipped and they changed the shipped date and it never was shipped. Now they say it seems the auto delilvery had expired, which is crazy since I only got the auto delivery twice and was never told it was over.!!! I can reorded it now for $10 more!!! What is hsppeningg to QVC. Not the old QVC any more. Better change your name.

@Judycats. You ought to b3 able to figure that out if you ever listen to the news or shop in stores. We currently have a volatile marketplace both in the US and overseas. The prices of both raw materials and finished products are constantly changing. They often can't sell an item for the price it was 6 months ago or can't get what they need to make it when they need it.
I really wish they'd quit auto deliveries but they're popular with consumers. You as an individual can quit them, however.

@Judycats I used to be disappointed when an AD was cancelled, but now I am happy to get however many shipments that could be shipped at the price giving me savings. But because you said you've already paid the new cost, I have to assume you can't find what you want elsewhere for the old price.
I agree with @Kachina624 that we really can't expect either QVC or the supplying company to absorb all the costs.
The vast majority of anything I've had on AD in the last 10 years has been skincare - I don't want to buy it at any price once it's old, so I don't want product sitting in a warehouse for 6 months. I'd rather pay the new price.
Years ago I bought pearls from Honora and gold from Eterna Gold on AD, but I quit buying any of either 9 years and 10 months ago.

I have had that happen to me on food and skincare. It seems like somehow my order is a surprise and, OOPS, we don't have any. Can't they plan ahead? Well apparently not, or they have the other issues as stated on other posts.
I remember one time on a Dr. Denese skincare product, they could not fill my AD. Yet they were selling the exact same product on air. So how does that makes sense for me, the customer, who committed to buy the product months ago? One has to wonder what goes on behind the scenes at QVC.

@Puppy Lips I understand fully why companies want to score a TSV on QVC. I've been lucky enough to talk once with a jewelry designer who wanted to have her products displayed on QVC. She needed to find money and a manufacturer to produce a large initial order just to get to a showing she said. Never happened, but I didn't see her again at the local craft shows either.
I believe still today, the prices we pay and the products available to us require the involvement of more than one company.
That's even true with much larger companies like Costco and Amazon that make their major profits from membership fees rather than from sending us products. Second companies are also involved.
When I see lists of retailers that investors are not buying into now, I see none on that list charging recurring fees for memberships or services or both. For all the demand right now, retail as I've known it for all the decades of my long life no longer pulls in the profits investors want to see. We can hate the word profit, but except in the Garden of Eden when wasn't money in control?

I think it's wonderful when A/D is available on items I know I like and will continue to purchase. But I also understand if a vendor is no longer able to continue to sell at that price. The world of retail is not the same as when QVC first started. I think it's unrealistic not to expect changes. I can't imagine any retailer wanting to cancel a sale.
My way of thinking is, if an A/D is cancelled I'm not out anything. No money was taken out of my pocket. I then make a decision if and from whom do I want to continue purchasing. Often it's still QVC.

I don't care if the vendor or QVC prices have risen. They have made a compact witht he customer to provide the customer what they ordered, if they didn''t build in something for future costs (that would be a dumb business decision) when they still need to honor the purchase. If they lose money on it it the cost of business and they will know better next time. This is customer service not what ever QVC is doing. And if the cancel something they should give advancee notice and actually notifiy the customer. If they keep losing money on it then the need to stop offering auto delivery and it not penalize and promise the customer.
Costs are always volitile and sometimes you win and if you are smart you keep your losses to a minimum but that is not the customers problem. That is how a customer service focused and successful business run.
