Access Denied message?

QVC Social Team,

 

When trying to open QVC.com via Edge, here is what I get:

 

Access Denied

You don't have permission to access "http://www.qvc.com/" on this server.

What is this all about?  Restarted, cleared browsing data and still get "access denied". Using IE now and it works!

I get this message a lot at log in as well, whether at check out, checking order status, or forum.  Hit or miss.  I use sfari browser.

@ScarletDove - I had this problem occur with every link I tried to click on the QVC site for about an hour this morning (using a PC and Chrome). I just moved on to other tasks, but when I returned, everything was working fine again. As usual, this seems to be a QVC problem, not user error.

Encountered this last week with Edge and Explorer 11.  Have been having problems on the website, as well, during the past two weeks.

@loriqvc   Thanks much Lori, I used IE to order something and will wait till later to see if QVC has cleared up in Edge; cannot watch QVC on IE, too choppy. Ever since I received MS updates about 2 weeks ago, had trouble on Edge but only with QVC, no other websites affected.. Others here had same kind of problems...seems to have cleared up, no doubt this will too! Thanks again!

              @ScarletDove,   I did some quick searching and it appears to me this error is associated with Akamai Technologies, the company that provides caching and content delivery services (maybe cloud services) to QVC's websites.   

 

              It looks like this error shows up sometimes when the software has problems with the IP address trying to access their servers.    However, that would completely block access which obviously isn't happening here.  In other cases, if our browser directs us to a cached area of certain servers, the error will show up.

 

               I believe, at least at first glance, that something about the way Akamai servers are caching and the way they're processing requests for service to QVC is glitchy.

 

               Question:   Are you using a bookmark/favorite to navigate to the site with Edge?   If so, try clearing all cookies/cache/website data and then going directly to QVC.com instead.   If there's a difference, that's a helpful clue.

@dooBdoo - You are helpful, as always! But I thought I'd share that when I had access issues earlier today, the only QVC page I could load was the homepage, which I'd gone to directly. Not a single linkable thing on the site would work; all elements generated a version of the "Access Denied" error. And then as I mentioned, I left the site and returned to it a little over an hour later, and even though I had not changed any settings, everything was suddenly working fine again. This site gives us so many adventures...  Smiley Wink

1. No not using bookmark or fav to navigate. 
2. Cleared cache/data previously and it did not work.  Just went back, cleared cookies/cache/data just now and got access.
Thanks for the info on Akamai Technologies and their involvement with QVC website...at least I will know the possible problem if it happens again.  Knew it was website problem and not user error but frustrating when you cannot access!

               Thanks for the additional information, @loriqvc and @ScarletDove!   It appears to me that they have some sort of corruption in the way they're directing traffic to servers and cached areas we reach no matter how we navigate to the site, and the result is a haphazard mess.   (sigh)   All these technical problems, one piled atop the next, are so unprofessional and they present a dreadful image to current and prospective customers.

I know you explained this to me once before, and I tried, but was not successful.  

 

When you have the time, could you please tell me in very simple words, how to delete some of the photos I have stored here in my QVC uploaded images?

 

There are so many I will not use here again, and I'd like to clean house.  But for the life of me I can't figure out how.

 

No rush, just as you have time.
