AWFUL Return Process & Customer Service

I contacted customer service after receiving Christmas gifts from a family member. I asked if it was possibly to exchange the 3 items for 1 new item. The rep explained that do not do exchanges and that I needed to return the items using the return form that came with the items and check the option “credit recipients’s account”. She insured me that QVC is discreet with returns and handles these types of returns all the time. So, I did as instructed confident this would be a simple process.

Boy was I wrong! I called to follow up today and was told that “Opps, it was credited back to my family member’s credit card. Not sure why the warehouse did that, Sorry.” No offer of a resolution to their mistake. Now, I have the awkward situation where this family member knows we made the return.

@MelBelI guess I can understand being embarrassed about returning a gift, but I don't understand how you expect your family member to be compensated without knowing there was a return.  The order number is going to be given on their credit card when the refund is given so that they know why they are being credited.

How else could this be handled?  Not trying to be snark, just curious.

The OP requested that the return credit go to her account (that is, the recipient's account), instead of the gift giver's. So, actually, what the rep said was correct but whomever did the crediting made the mistake. I don't know how they could fix it now though.

Hang up and call again.  So sad we have to so this, but that’s the way QVC is these days.  Still waiting for my return to process.  In the meantime I have already received  a return notice from HSN and I mailed them the same day.
