The more studies that are done the scarier zika becomes.  I recently read a report out of Italy that the virus was found in a man's sperm after six months, twice as long as previously thought it survived.  Men need to be routinely tested too, not just women that are pregnant or trying to get pregnant.

I just looked up the history of the zika virus and it dates back (known) to 1947 named for for Zika forest where the mosquito carrying it was found.

Yesterday I read that health officials are now bracing for an epidemic of Yellow Fever.  There is a vaccine for it but not enough on hand, of course. 

 

People led wonder why we should be concerned about what goes on in these tropical third world countries.  They have squalid living conditions which are a perfect breeding ground for disease.  We've already had a death or two this year of West Nile Virus.  My mother, sitting out here in the desert of New Mexico, died of it in 2003.
