Now I'm curious how many posters here have had a drone appear on their property? If one hung around, I might train my super-duper hose on it. No guns here.
No drones in my neighborhood - but I was at a 5K race in Daytona Beach - The Mutt Strut - on Palm Sunday. They hired a drone to fly over and take video of the event.
They let us know that they had done it from the stage before the race began on the beach, so people wouldn't be alarmed.

I asked because there was a news story about it. Asnooping person was using one to spy in his windows,It seems i was Ok for the guy to snoop, but not for him to try to put a stop to it

There are SAFE, LEGAL ways to end snooping.

However, in theory if a drone encroached upon me or my property and I had the means to do so, I'd shoot it out of the sky and grab an ax and chop up the pieces. We need some privacy laws sooner rather than later. I can't climb up on my neighbor's balcony and peek into her window and film she's doing.....but......I can fly a tiny plane onto her balcony and film to heart's content???? Does that even make any sense?
Geez. "we would never be gun owners" , but sure would use an ax to committ a violent act. Funny.

It seems neighborhood snooping isn't the only thing the drones have done. Some woman at a gay pride parade, was hit in the head by a 2 lb drone, and a fireman came to her rescue. The drone was taken to the police.

You consider taking an ax to an inanimate object a "violent act"? Only an extreme pacifist would think that was violent, IMO.
I think firing a weapon would be more dangerous, since the bullet could end up far away and hit someone innocent.

If an object was treasured or valued taking an ax to it would be considered a violent act by many. and it did mention shooting it down before using the ax
Plus do we really need to be yelled at with that bold text for comments just made in jest.

I just think it ironic that someone who 'would never own a gun' presumably because 'guns kill' and are 'dangerous', would use another inanimate object like an ax, to so violently dispose of something that 'bothers' them. Just reinforces that guns don't kill, anymore than axes do, it's the people behind them and what they do with them.

No we use them in my company the ones that are what you see on TV and the mini ones that can fly undetected because they are now the size of a smart phone. They help our engineers do amazing things that would not be done by humans.

We DO own guns, but in my city (and i would think other cities as well), it's illegal to discharge within city limits. Yes, I realize that drones are an invasion of privacy, but it seems rather extreme to open fire on one. To me, that is very irresponsible.
