women and estrogen - new study released today

Just as my gyne told me many years ago - women who have had a hysterectomy and then use estrogen for menopausal symptoms are at a much lower risk of breast cancer or heart attack (assuming they are <60 yr.old) than women who did not have a hyster. the reason is because those who have not had a hyster need both estrogen and progesterone and it is the progesterone that causes the side effects of breast cancer and heart dis moch more than plain estrogen.Post hyster ladies do not need the progesterone because the progesterone is what makes you have a period and after a hyster that is not needed. the results were on CBS news this evening.
