why do people do this?

we invited some friends today to come to the cmpground - see the new digs -and we would have a picnic. I asked them on the invitation to let me know if their coming so I could plan food - well 2 don't know if their husbands are coming or not and 2 others don't know if their kids are coming or not. (teen boys who would only be coming because they have friends who camp here), and one never responded at all. Heck! it only takes a text. I am now stuck having to plan food for 12 when in reality it could be as few as 6. Plus we have to pay a fee for guests and usually we just pre pay it but today we have to wait til each car arrives to see how many are in it, which just feels ackward to me.

Don't you just wish you could say - hey , you didn't tell me you were coming so I didn't make food for you - sorry. Burger King is around the corner.
