Re: when you click 'submit' and your post disappears. so irritating.

Please be sure to read dooB's #3, above.

When you hit "submit" and it looks like it didn't post (disappeared), be sure to scroll all the way down to the bottom of the screen.

I will bet that you'll find your post at the bottom with a red message stating that some word you used isn't acceptable. Correct it, hit "submit" again, and it will post.

This happened to me a number of times before I figured it out.

Thanks, Lion!Smile I really do think that's what happens most of the time. It took me a few times before figuring it out, too.

As far as a time limit on posting or a limit to the size of a post, I really don't believe those apply on these forums. I know I've taken a loooooong time to write a post here, and it worked with no problem, no time-out. And I've read some extremely long posts filled with multiple images and even complete articles from web sources, so if there's a size limit the cap must be really accommodating.

Many times they time out, or are too lengthy.

thanks for the responses, computer wizards Smile. I have backspaced and that didn't work, but I never thought about looking at the bottom of the page to see if my post was still hanging there. I did start copying my posts after this happened a couple of times, but I just forgot this last time.

It's not always that. But agree, that happens a lot because certain words you would never think of being banned are, if it is it shows up when you scroll down after not seeing your post posted. But last week I posted a reply and it didn't show up. When I scrolled down, thinking I would see the thing about unable to use certain words, the box to post a reply was blank. Another poster above suggested hitting the back button, which I tried with that lost post, but that didn't work. It's was gone as gone could be and I have no idea why, except maybe the system timed out?

I've never had a post time out and I often take quite a while to write my posts and review them before submitting.

Happens to me - I get timed out. I hate when that happens because I never know which one it will be. Other people can type forever and ever. I don't get it.

Sometimes when two people post at the exact same time and hit submit only one goes through.
