That might not sound like a legitimate blessing to some but when I was unable to walk, and my vision was impaired, I laid alone all day and had nothing to do but to watch/listen to TV (I had double and blurred vision from nerve damage but could see well enough to sort of watch TV and at least I could listen).  I did not have to do anything but punch buttons all day and I was careful not to mess up lest I could not fix it until DH came home and he "fixed" it for me.  That was a real blessing to have a remote when I was unable to see well enough to read and unable to walk in order to change the channel.
