I dwell and, while I may appear to let it go, I never forget a transgression. What bothers me, outrages me, is people who have fun at another's expense, especially when they set up children and pets. Jimmy Kimmel comes to mind, suggesting parents hide their children's Halloween candy and tell them they ate it. Even worse, parents who did just that and sent videos.

I was taken advantage of in a similar way a couple of years ago. I am always willing to help others, but if they show no gratitude with even a simple thank you, they are off my list of friends. Your kindness was taken advantage of....I would mark this person off your list of friends. People should not treat others that way.

Mistreating children or animals is one of the biggest red flags for emotional disturbance there is, it has always bothered me, especially when this sort of behavior happens and those who have the ability to prevent it choose to sit on their hands and do nothing to stop it. It is a sad commentary on our society that comedians think being cruel to children is funny. There is hopefully a special place for those people when judgement day comes.

People lacking in empathy for others

Hatred towards others because of where they live ( i hate you because you live in the south...I hate you because you live in NY, etc. )

Hatred towards others because of their political party ( we are neighbors, not mortal enemies for goodness sake )

- Some "friends" aren't friends and the best we can do is forgive them and move on and away from them.

Cruelty of any kind first and foremost.  People walking around half naked in immodest clothing, cigarette smoking/vaping polluting everyone else's air, people who litter/can't be bothered to put their trash in the proper receptacle.  Scam calls, emails, etc.

People who feel like it is their "job, duty, right" to straighten some else out!!

Especially when they do not know your side of the story!

yes, as OP said, ungratefulness --- I too have a similar story.  I helped someone who was in dire strats and that person was going through a divorce. After that mess, that person invited me to go to on a resort vacation with that person.  I paid for my own airfare and resort expenses.  That person had a timeshare we stayed in for the trip.  Anyway, that person had a meltdown -- blamed me for silly things, and said I had to have my way on all the activities.  Uh, we planned the week's schedule together in advance of the trip.  Long story short, it's been 7 years and we still do not speak to each other.  I have thought about calling to sort things out, but nah, too much time has passed and that ship has sailed.
