Thanks for calling my attention to the use of the wrong accounting term !   Bad time of year: tax prepping and deciding on selling a property !!

Whar I should have said in case someone was itemizing each and every donation, was the use of taking the standard deduction to reduce taxes.....unless the amount of itemitized donated items is greater than the standard deduction.

( My non-accountant mind substituted " alternative " to the concept of deducting taxes.  Good catch, glad somebody is awake ! )

@jlkz   Thank DH for the catch. After almost 55 yrs. in his tax accountant practice, very little passes him by. Lol

Re: what are your after Christmas plans?

@monicakm   No canned tomatoes - these were fresh tomatoes from the garden of a friend of my son.  He brought me a huge bucket full of San Marzanos and I was thrilled. He had other varieties in their as well.  I cored them and froze them whole in freezer bags. When I defrosted them, the skin slips right off.  Then I made homemade meatballs. OMG my family inhaled it.  Picking meatballs out of the pot!

If I need to make sauce without fresh tomatoes, I always use Cento brand San Marzanos.  But nothing beats off the vine.

Relax as much as possible.  Get some sleep (as much as possible).  Spend time with my daughter before she returns to University.  Spend time with husband...not working around the house.
