Puttypie is the name of my cat however, the dog comes when I call out and so does my husband for that matter. He'll come over to where I'm sitting with a great big smile so I told him he's the head puttypie and puttypie in charge of all the others.

Re: How did you come up with your screen name ?

What a great question! My screen name is a reflection of who I was at that time, and how I saw myself--the mother of basketball players, who traveled the country and spent an inordinate amount of time in gyms.

When my husband and I became empty-nesters I had a bit of an existential crisis. I needed to rediscover myself, who I was and what I ejoyed apart from my children and husband. I reconnected with outdoor activities, became a runner, and met a whole new group of positive and motivated women who I consider my tribe. Today I would call myself Runner Girl 901.

[ Edited ]

For years I wrote music and performed with one of my sisters.   One of the lighthearted songs we wrote contained a silly “doo-bee-doo-bee” refrain, and my dear, precious father was forever asking us to sing it.   His face would light up like the brilliance of a million stars.   He passed away, so young, when I was 17...  and now he’s a part of those brilliant stars.   He’s a part of my heart.   I think of him and his love when I see or use my goofy nickname, and my heart warms with memories and gratitude for the years we were blessed to share with him.

Wonderful thread, @CoffeeNut!  It’s so interesting to know the stories and backgrounds of our fellow posters’ nicknames.🌻

My screen name means "ladybug" in German.

I love ladybugs and I speak German.  Smiley Happy

I’m enjoying reading everyone’s replies!  I picked mine “Grandmatobe” awaiting the birth of our first grandchild...now we have 5!  Smiley Wink

My username is boring. It’s my initials (Jennifer is my first name) and the year I was born. Boring but I’ll never forget it at least.

@fourpaws56- I love the meaning behind your username. I love all animals as well. I’ve seen some of your other posts- where in CA are you? I lived in the East Bay for 10 years. I miss it terribly. I sincerely hope you and your loved ones are safe out there. 😥 Those fires... my heart breaks just thinking about what’s happened.

Thank you for your kind words! I live about 15 miles from Yosemite ational Park...the fires are so scary, we had to evacuate twice but Thank God we had a house to come home to..and our animals were safe
