Every year at this time our neighborhood has quite a few Mallard Ducks that come to the area to "nest". And because we regularly fill our bird feeder the ducks hang out in our yard. So when it is nesting time we put extra piles of bird seed on the ground for the ducks.
There is one problem generally the squirrels get to the piles before the ducks do. They just eat and eat and eat until there is nothing left. How can I get the squirrels to share with the ducks?
