Is there any free on line apps that will tell you who called without having to pay? I've tried several and they want you to pay and I won't use credit card, etc. for something like that.

I use whitepages.com to check on a number.

Many times I get them free by putting them in Google.

If the number is a phising scam it will state out of the billion of numbers they checked they came up with nothing.

I also google the number.  Most of the time there is no name associated with the number; if a name does come up, it is usually someone's old cell or landline number.  If the area code and local code numbers come up, but the last four numbers are in a similar range to what is showing on Google, it has been spoofed as part of a phishing scam.

Some of the callers I get use phone numbers that are spoofed so even if I can look up those numbers it wouldn't be of any help. 

One time I called back one of those numbers and I got some business that had no idea why I got a call from them. That business' phone number was being spoofed.

@kaydee50.  I tried 3 numbers from which I've recently gotten calls.  They didn't have a record of any.  I'm not impressed

I've started getting Political calls and texts.  Annoying!

Especially early in the morning!
