I have had an autoimmune issue since having my baby almost 2 years ago. Was fine when I went in except for the issues that caused the premature delivery. so I am on 200 mg plaquenil daily and once a month I go in for an IV med of Orencia. My blood tests have shown that I may be developing an underactive thyroid. Two months ago I took routine tests and my blood showed a possible over active so I retested 6 weeks later and all except 1 is off, which is now showing may be becoming underactive. My doctor said to retest in a month but then his nurse called (I have Kaiser) and said I could go on meds. I told her "I thought I'm suppose to retest first". She was clueless.
It just seems like so many meds. I'm only 35. I have noticed a weight gain of 12 pounds in the past year. But I was underweight last year due to the baby and birth and complications.
Does anyone here take thyroid meds? How long before you noticed your weight going back to normal?
