But...I do not think this girl is mentally ill. I think she was looking for a thrill. That guy woo'd her telling her she was special and powerful.
I don't see evidence that she's mentally ill, either. She reminds me of the women that line up to marry serial killers, like Manson. And it's certainly not new, look at Bonnie of Bonnie & Clyde and other young women who took off with criminal types.
Agreed.
I don't believe this girl is mentally ill. Of course it's a miracle they didn't use it as a defense. Too many use mental illness as an excuse for criminal behavior or as a defense.
Some people were just born bad.

Agreed and I ask the OP again,
how does that fall squarely on our generation's (well, I added the apostrophe) shoulders?
And exactly which generation would that be?

And not deep thinkers. Women like the one above seem to romanticize bad guys. We're always hearing about this kind of thing, look at the 13 year old that took off with an 18 year old just a couple of weeks ago. Then there was the woman that hung out with Butch Cassidy & The Sundance Kid.

NO child (or animal) asks to be born, and is born "bad"; it's us adults who mess them up.
If we spent at least as much money on mental health as we do physical, the world would be a better place, one of much less suffering. ![]()

I agree with you about supporting mental health treatment and research, but there are people born with a deficit.
What we call psychopaths and some sociopaths are born that way, without a conscience and without the ability to empathize. Ted Bundy was an example.

I don't know why this information isn't widely known.

I agree no one asks to be born (human or animal). However, there are those who are born bad they don't need anyone to mess them up, they are just born that way.
