The daffodil thread reminded me of spring flowers in general. 28 years ago when we bought our first home my Mom bought dozens of snow crocus bulbs and just threw them all over the yard - then where they landed we planted them. Over the years they grew and multiplied til there are hundreds of them all over the yard. I forgot to tell the new owners about them - won't they be surprized when they spring up through the snow?? By the time it is time to cut the grass thestems can be cut and you never know they are there till the next spring. I will miss them this year - I hope the new owners like them. They are mostly purple but some yellow and some blended yellow and purple - I guess they cross pollinated.
