'sometimes' running toilet??

just got water bill and called in a panic it's $84 something,,,,,usually $35 something......had one toidy that runs once in a while could that do it???? other than that I have stupid pipe insurance in and out and everything, I'm sooo angry with everything else going on. Lowes is gonna get it from me,,,,,,,having it fixed otherwise (?) I'm so tired of fighting to get thru each and every stinkin day. the water bill took me off the edge. sorry to vent, but had to yell somewhere,,,,,you're the lucky ones {#emotions_dlg.sneaky}could a 'sometimes' leaky toidy amount to double my bill or should I be checked for leakage elsewhere>? G od help me.
