snowboarding

My grandson, who is 15, is getting a snowboard for Christmas. In the past, he has always rented them. Now...I would like to get him boots. For anyone who snowboards or knows someone who does, can you tell me which boots are better for you? I know nothing.....I sound like Schultz!! beanie
