He was a Pulitzer-winning playwright. That was his true love.

@Pqfan  He was, although a bit too lean for my tastes in men.   I don't like to outweigh them by 30 lbs and I don't my jeans to be bigger than theirs in the thighs!  Smiley Happy

LOL! Yeah he was thin but he wore it well.

I could have fattened him up. :-)

RIP.

Didn't he play the Vermont vet in "Baby Boom" with Diane Keaton?

I loved that movie, and I thought he was so cute in it!

I just saw it over the weekend again on one of the networks.

Re: sad -Sam Shepard has died

I was wondering--wasn't it Tom Skerrit who played Dolly Parton's husband in Steel Magnolias?  Of course, Sam Shepard was  a great actor in so many movies over the years.

Re: sad -Sam Shepard has died

@Mardie  Skerritt had a much larger role than Sam S. did in Steel Magnolias.   Sam S. was kind of oblvious to his wife Dolly but then, when Shelby died, he offered to go to the funeral with her which was really a nice thing to do.  He offered while stirring up something in a jar in her hair salon as they talked, and he aske her what the heck that kind of goopy stuff was to which Dolly replied, "it's to make you pretty."

He was like some of the older actors some of us knew (I'm 70).  They are sexy without trying so hard.  Just real men, know what I mean?
