Sad to hear about Sam. I used to have a crush on him many many years ago. He will be missed.

I thought he and Jessica Lange lived together for years but never married, although I could be wrong.  Shepard was married to someone else when he met Lange.

When I first saw this thread title, I thought it was about Sam Shepperd, the Cleveland doc who (IMO) killed his wife and that he'd died a long time ago (which he had).

I agree with the post above who wrote he was one of the best-looking guys around, and also so talented as an actor and a playwright.  Gone too soon.

"He is survived by his writer son Jesse, from his marriage to actress O-Lan Jones, his other son Walker and daughter Hannah, from his 30-year relationship with actress Jessica Lange.  Shepard and Lange met on the set of the movie "Frances" and were a couple until 2009, when they separated."

@Pqfan  He was, although a bit too lean for my tastes in men.   I don't like to outweigh them by 30 lbs and I don't my jeans to be bigger than theirs in the thighs!

Remember him from Baby Boom and Steel Magnolias, had no idea he was ill. I think Lange has 2 children with him, but they were never married.

 I just finished watching him in the Netflix series Bloodlines. Good actor & a sad loss!
