I like to dress in many different ways.

Sometimes t-shirt and skinny jeans. Sometimes a ruffled blouse and flowy skirt. Sometimes a maxi dress, sometimes a sleek sheath. Big jewelry, small dainty jewelry, real jewelry, costume. Wide legged pants and a tank, trousers and a tailored shirt.

Why do we have to dress a certain way to be considered feminine anyway? I know I'm a woman, and no one has ever questioned that.

Exactly!

Long gone are the days where women had to wear blouses that had ruffles that came up to their chin.

Thank goodness that isn't the style anymore.

Hated it.{#emotions_dlg.thumbdown}

Sad to say, bustles and petticoats will not return anytime soon....LOL Seriously, though. There are plenty of girly-girl fashions and feminine styles out there. You just have to look. I've seen more ruffles, lace, crochet and floral prints this year than I have in years. As for the "comfort shoes" that OP is complaining about. Well, the fact is QVC's core customer is the middle aged and older woman and it's a medical fact that women (not all, but most) lose the fat padding on the soles of our feet as we age. That's why so many women in our age group have foot problems. I'm grateful that QVC offers shoes for women like me. But once again, there are plenty of pointy toe, spindle heel shoes out there, you just have to look for them.

Agreed. I'd rather wear shoes that are comfortable, than to jam my foot in to a shoe just to look "feminine".

fascinating - but i believe i was pretty clear about making a comfortable shoe that was more flattering. i am older than middle aged = and i don't want spindle heel/pointy toe shoes. don't know where you got that from. ?? yes, as i said already, i know i can look elsewhere. just looking for more choice here. apparently that is a crime. lol.

I LOVE shoes, and I HATE clunkers. I have bought my share of beautiful shoes that I rarely wear because they hurt, but have gotten smarter about that and do find shoes that please my fashion sense but don't cause me pain. I do, however, have to go to B&M stores to find them. I cannot buy shoes online and expect them to be comfortable. Fit is everything, no matter what the style is.

Not a crime, but difficult to understand (at least for me)! I view QVC just as I view b&m stores. Different stores carry different products and find their niche. If one store doesn't carry the styles and products I'm looking for, I go to a different store. I don't expect every store to cater to my style and ask that they bring in stock that I want but the majority of their target audience probably won't buy.

Unfortunatly, everything on ViewPoints can be a crime. LOL I'm not into "girly", but I do like a comfy kitten heel for dressy occassions. They are few and far between. Most tend to look like "old" shoes. When I do find cute comfy ones, I try to get a couple of colors....just in case. I like "dainty" jewelry and chunky jewelry. All depends on my mood for the day. Only dress I wear are maxis in the summer and a little black dress for funerals. Rest of the time in pants. Maxis get cute, strappy wedges. Pants get strappy sandals.

Fate whispers to her, "You cannot withstand the storm." She whispers back, "I am the storm."

A nice old gentleman stopped me in the street yesterday to compliment me on how pretty my long floral summer skirt was.

He started off well, but then I realised he was somewhat intoxicated.

But it was still a compliment, and he meant it, bless him.

Hmmm, perhaps it's more that many ON ViewPoints play the "not a crime" card when people offer explanations and suggestions that differ from what they are expecting?

edited by me.
